Information was given by David Albert on Parliamentary Procedure on a motion that was passed at Honors band clinic meeting 2006 and on resending a motion.

NCBA General Meeting 11/12/07

Recognition of Past Presidents and Hall of Fame Members.

Minutes from the Honors Band Clinic Meeting in 2006 Approved.

Treasurer’s Report Approved.

All State Honors Band 2008 Information given: Audition March 8^th East Davidson/Brown Middle School.

Clinic April 18-20 NC School of Arts, Winton-Salem.

Nominations were given for the Hall of Fame and Ballots were passed out.

Concert Festival Reports: Richard Holmes gave information regarding the New Music.

State Concert Band Festival: Phillip Riggs gave information to the membership about the State Concert Band Festival listed in our By-laws. A committee will be formed charged into looking how we can implement this in future years.

Marching Band Committee: Tim Wise, information giving on feedback from judges sheets and deadlines.

Jazz Committee: Andy Carter gave information on upcoming Jazz event and noted the information on the state jazz website.

Director Retention Committee: Bob Buckner gave information about the intent of the committee and that there still needs to be support from each district.

Website: Bill Pendergrass gave information on the website, included letting the membership know that Honor’s Band forms would be online only.

Bylaw Changes: Richard Holmes brought a motion from the NCBA Board to change Article V, Section 3 to read: Request for District Reassignment must be submitted to the NCBA Board in Writing before the Honor’s Band Meeting.

New Business: Motion to resend the motion adopted at the 2006 Honors Band Clinic meeting that moved Honors Band Clinic from a 3 day Clinic to a 2 day Clinic. The motion to resend was seconded. After much discussion the membership voted to resend the motion, thus Honors Band Clinic will be a 3 day clinic.

Hall of Fame Inductees are Scott Calloway, Robert Clark, Levy Gaillard, Homer Haworth.

Things to Celebrate: 5 NC Students selected for the All-American Marching Band.
