Anyone interested in serving as Chief Judge at a 2010 NCBA sanctioned marching event, who was not trained during the summer of 2009, should attend a Chief Judge Training Session this summer. The first session will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Sanderson High School in Raleigh, NC from 1:00-5:00 PM in the Band Room. Attendees will be trained using the NCBA Adjudication Manual to make sure that everyone is aware of all the newest rules and guidelines for NCBA shows, effective show management (numbers and logistics), the role and duties of the Chief Judge, etc.
To be clear, if you attended the Chief Judge Training session in the summer of 2009, you are not required to attend. If you so desire, you are more than welcome to attend this training session as a refresher course before the 2010 season begins. Please also note, if you were trained as a Chief Judge prior to the summer of 2009, you will need to attend a training session this summer in order to be an approved Chief Judge during the 2010 season.
If you plan to attend the training session on June 29, please RSVP to Creighon Flowers, Sanderson High School Director of Bands, at cflowers@wcpss.net by June 21. Your quick response is appreciated, and we look forward to seeing you in June!
Special Note: An additional training session is being tentatively planned during the Western Carolina University Summer Symposium between the dates of July 11 15, 2010. Please understand that this session has not been confirmed at the date of this posting. Please check back frequently for updates.
